Covered Notebook

Hello there everyone welcome to another year.
Today I am creating for Off the Rails

This is my first tutorial for the year and there will be many more to come.
I have made for you all today a covered note book, it is 8 1/2 x 6 inches

We had a mood board this month.
We had to choose which colour scheme we liked and used it with white only.
So this is what I have come up with.
I got my hands very dirty I chose pink of course.

As I said I started with an ordinary note book.
I cut a piece of patterned paper to 10 1/2 x 12 inches and then scored it at 7 and 7 5/8 inches
this makes it easier to bend around the spine of your book.
I have used some 3/4 inch double sided tape and taped it to the wrong side of your paper, making sure you put plenty on as being a note book it will be opened and closed a lot and we don't want it to fall apart. Then lay your paper on your table and place the book on top of it lining up the score line and the spine of your book. Give a gentle rub all over to make sure it is well stuck down.

The paper is not long enouch to completely cover your back so we have to cut another piece at
3 x 10 1/2 inches then score at the 2 inch mark. Then place your tape on the wrong side and tape to your book. I then cut another 2 pieces of pattern paper to cover the inside of the book.
This will measure 5 1/2 x 8 1/4 inches tape this well to the inside of the covers of your book.

I then painted the front of my book with white gesso let it dry a little and using a baby wipe, wipe off the gesso leaving a little so it looks a bit shabby.
Using some light modeling paste and a floral mask, cover the front of the book, let dry.
I then went around the edges of the book with some pink chalk ink , then glued on the flowers, lace, feathers and coloured some white gauze with some pink spray and placed it around and under the flowers. After doing this I used my finger and some white gesso and went around the edges of my book and all over the flowers and leaves, just to dull the colours.

Pretty as a picture

Welcome to another month it is getting closer and closer to Christmas.
I think the older you get the quicker the year goes.

Today I have created another layout for you using the chipbpoard from
Memory Maze

And yes another beautiful photo of my Grand daughter Zarna Rose.

I cut down the white cardstock so it measures 11 1/2 inches square,
then I used an edge distresser and distressed the edges.
Tape this onto the pattern paper.

I used a circle stencil form Memory Maze and the lilac spray,
then I added the texture paste over the top using the same mask.
Let this dry then spray on some of the snow angle spray.
Let this dry and stamp using a script stamp and pink ink all around your layout.
I have cut pieces from the 6 1/2 inch paper pad, using three pink coloured papers.
Tape these down you might have to use some glue as the tape may not stick well to the mixed media on the layout.
I have added a flower border from the sticker sheet as well also some lace.
Add your flowers and leaves.
Now for the frame it is pretty easy I just covered it with some pink ink. You might have to give this a few coats to get the effect you want.
I aslo added a phrase from the sticker sheet as well.

Beautiful little Princess

Once again it is my reveal for Off the Rails Scrapbooking
we had a very pretty mood baord to follow this month

November mood board

I got my hands a bit dirty with this one.

And this is how I created the background. I firstly brushed clear gesso to the white cardstock.
Then using the sprays, spray in different spots and the spray with water to make it move.
I then used some paper towel and daubed it moving the colour around the page.
Dry with a heat gun I couldn't wait.
Using a diamond mask and texture paste place around where your photo will sit.
I used blue stazon and a script stamp and daubed arond the page, y texture paste was still a bit wet so it soaked up the colour.

I added a large crochet doily to the background
and placing my scraps of papers where I wanted them.
Then add your photo and gently stamp around the edges with some black stazon and a stitch stamp.
I have also used a small doily stamp and purple ink and stamped around the background.

Products used
White and purple cardstock
clear gesso
Sei tumble dry spray inks - pink, blue, orange, yellow and purple
Diamond mask and texture paste
Sewing and doily stamp
Purple and black ink
Paper towel and spray water bottle
Scraps from the Kaisercraft fairy dust collection
Flowers from my stash

Note Book

Hi everyone today I am bringing you another tutorial for
Memory Maze

I need to make a start on my Christmas presents so I thought I would share this one with you all.
I have some 6x8 1/4 inch note books in my mighty stash
and I have also used the October kit from Paper flourish

Using the two sheets of the Kaisercraft Ooh lala Collection Belle papers.
Cover the outside of your book and also the inner sides of the book.

I cut three bunches of flowers from the C'est la vie papers laid the white doiley down first then the largest of the flowers over the top.

The butterfly dreams chipboard piece I painted well with white gesso.
And used Tim Holtz distress stains I daubed over the top.
The ripe persimmon is a very strong colour so I daubed some of the colour off
 just to tone it down.
When these are dry (I used a heat gun to hurry up the drying process)
I went over the top with some dimensional magic.
When dry glue onto the top of the flower and doiley and to add some dimension to the flowers I raised them up with some foam tape.
I then added the word phrase and from my Memory Maze stash box of bits and pieces added some butterflies and a heart ornament.
I did the same as above to colour these.
